Our Future Plans

The Montgomery County Nursing Home has, like most businesses, had its share of turbulent times. In 1997, the nursing home was at a crossroads whether to remodel or simply replace the aging hospital/nursing home.

The outcome of this crossroads the Board of Directors opted to purchase 83 acres in the City of Mount Ida where a new nursing home would be constructed. In 2001, the nursing home began construction of the new facility with a bright future ahead with the opportunity to offer its residents a new home with amenities unlike they had ever known. The first resident moved into the new nursing home on June 9, 2002.

In 2002, the Mount Ida Senior Citizen Center was constructed on the campus just east of the new nursing home. It offers seniors lunch meals for a whole $1.50 and the chance to get caught up on the latest talk of the town.

When 2006 rolled around, the nursing home embarked upon a new vision… a new assisted living that would offer people of Montgomery County a choice in healthcare options. The new 32 apartment assisted living would be completed in record time and the first Residents moved in on July 9, 2007.

In closing, God has blessed our organization richly over the years. Our mission is to serve the needs of the community especially as it relates to our valued senior population in Montgomery County.
